# Understand lifetime billing

> Distinguish lifetime access from a recurring subscription.

## Lifetime access

A lifetime plan does not renew. There is no recurring subscription to cancel and no automatic-renewal control for that lifetime access.

The account billing page shows **Lifetime access · no renewal**. Tiered lifetime plans keep their tier in the plan name, such as **Basic Lifetime** or **Pro Lifetime**.

You should not see cancellation, automatic-renewal, or recurring payment-management controls for lifetime access. If you reach a cancellation or renewal request directly, Dock rejects it rather than treating lifetime access as a monthly or annual subscription.

## Server lifetime access

A server's lifetime access also has no recurring renewal or subscription cancellation. Server assignment management is separate from billing. Check the controls available for your assigned server before changing an assignment.

## Recurring subscriptions

Monthly and annual subscriptions are different from lifetime access. Use the billing page to check the current plan, interval, status, and any available renewal or cancellation controls.

If the displayed plan does not match your purchase or grant, contact [support](https://docksys.xyz/discord). Include the non-secret plan or receipt reference. Never share an API key or other credential.
