# Use a read-only preview

> Understand which checks a protected preview can support.

A preview marked **Read-only** lets you inspect supported account and server information while changes are restricted.

## Check what is available

Use the preview to inspect account details, supported key metadata, and server configuration that your signed-in account is allowed to view. Server access still depends on current Discord permissions and membership.

A visible server does not establish that a Discord bot is connected or that its live role and channel caches are warm. Check those behaviors in a separately authorized test environment.

## Respect unavailable actions

Changing account links, saving server settings, creating or revoking keys, changing billing, and completing write-based verification flows are unavailable in a read-only preview. An unavailable action has not been saved. Retrying it does not enable it.

## Refresh Roblox profile details

Where **Refresh** is available, it can retrieve public Roblox profile details for the existing linked account and update the preview display. It does not connect another Roblox account or change the stored account link.

Roblox can limit or fail provider requests. Cached details may remain visible when a refresh cannot complete. Wait for the displayed retry guidance rather than repeatedly refreshing.

## Finish testing in the right environment

Read-only checks do not prove that writes, billing, notifications, bot commands, or background workers are ready. Test those behaviors only in an environment configured and authorized for that purpose.
