# Set up Dock

> Get verification working in your Discord server.

**1. Open your server**

Sign in to the [Dock dashboard](https://docksys.xyz/dashboard) and select the server you want to configure.

**2. Set the role hierarchy**

Move Dock above every role it needs to assign or remove. Give it **Manage Roles**. Enable **Manage Nicknames** only when you use nickname formatting.

**3. Configure verification**

Open **Verification**, choose verified and unverified roles, select the verification channel, and save the configuration.

**4. Publish and test**

Send the verification message and complete the flow with a normal member account. Confirm the intended roles and nickname behavior.
